For this website, I reached out to old and current students for these blurbs.

Their words are posted here exactly as how they've written them.

Mr. Huang has helped me tremendously in school for about four years. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t have done as well as I did in school. He is very nice and friendly, and always answered my questions and made sure I understood everything before I left.

I came to Howard for tutoring help when I was struggling to keep my grades up in AP Biology and AP Calculus AB. Even though I had a history of being an accomplished student, I realized that I was struggling to keep up my GPA even though I was studying as much as I could. As a high school student struggling to juggle extracurricular activities, homework, and SAT/ACT prep, it was hard to find time for tutoring outside of my packed schedule. However, I realized that my grades were the most important priority to me and the way I was studying just didn’t work anymore. Howard helped me create different strategies that worked for my learning style. I was able to study more efficiently, do well on exams, and accurately retain knowledge well past the exam date. The most important thing I learned from Howard was to adopt a versatile attitude to my education—if studying one way doesn’t work, try another until you find a way that works best for you.

My tutoring experience with Mr. Huang was extremely beneficial. Without his help, I definitely would not have made it through AP Calculus. He helped me keep up with the class—even when I was extremely discouraged and didn’t think I could do it—and prepared me well enough to get a 5 on the AP exam. Not only did he help me with Calculus, but he also helped me with my personal statements and he is a huge reason why I am able to attend UC Irvine.

When I was struggling with Calculus BC, Howard really helped me grasp the concepts that I found tough. He was very engaging, patient, and caring; he genuinely wanted me to do well. He was able to identify areas that I struggled in and guide me through, but at the same time challenge me to apply myself and think through the problems on my own. Not only does he know the material extremely well, but also knows how to teach the material effectively and efficiently.

Howard was an essential part of my UC admissions. Writing is my weakest subject but with his guidance, I was able to produce an exceptional personal statement for my UC applications. The personal statement is such a critical part of the admissions process and it can ultimate make or break your application. I am grateful to come across Howard and his services for turning a weakness of mine into a product that I’m extremely proud of. I want to thank him again for always being readily available and patient. Would highly recommend his services to anyone. Think of it as an investment for your future!

Howard’s an amazing tutor. He has helped me ace all my math courses, from college algebra/geometry to Calculus 1, 2, and 3. He also assisted me in Chemistry 101 and 102, as well as English. He is, by far, the most efficient math and science tutor I have ever had. I get excited when I set an appointment with Howard because I know I will learn much more than if I learned it by myself or with another professor/tutor. Howard has helped me learn the most difficult math and science subjects in the least amount of time, while squeezing the most amount of information into my brain.

I’ve been fortunate enough to utilize Mr. Huang’s academic advising services throughout my high school career. Mr. Huang explained concepts I was struggling to understand during our one-on-one tutoring sessions. With his tips and guidance, I was able to raise my grades and ACT score. I now attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as a Business Administration major, hoping to concentrate in Accounting.

Howard was my math tutor during my sophomore and junior years of high school. I had always taken advanced math, but Calc AB AP proved to be a struggle. Having the personalized tutoring and one-on-one instruction from Howard really helped me understand the concepts and lock in how to do specific kinds of problems. I ended up getting an A in the class and a 5 on the AP test! Fast forward and I believe having Howard’s help contributed to my getting into a good university. Fight on!

With Mr. Huang’s 1 on 1 help, we were able to focus personal improvements I needed in order to understand my subject more. The techniques and lessons I learned continue to be skills that I can use even in college! Thanks to Mr. Huang, I graduated High School with a 4.0 GPA and got into the college of my choice. I am proud to say that I am attending the University of California Irvine, where I am on studying on track to attend Medical School.

I’ve struggled in math all throughout high school and to save my gpa during my senior year, I made the decision to not take the AP calculus class at my high school. However, I was able to still pass the AP Calc exam with a 4 due to Howard’s help. His tutoring also prepared me for the calculus classes I had to take at UC Davis during my first year, where I was able to score As in all the classes. Howard is different from the rest because he not just wants us to excel in our subject, but he cares about our well-being as students. The confidence he helped instill in myself towards math has carried over in other difficult courses that I’ve come across, and for that I’m very thankful for everything he has done for my learning experience.

I came to Howard in need of assistance to pass one of my most crucial classes in order to get into my major for college. His teaching style was so effective because he constantly challenged me, and by doing so, he helped pinpoint and solve weaknesses I did not know I had. Howard helped me strengthen my foundation for mathematics which allowed me to pass my calculus two class as well as flourish in my future math courses. He is a great teacher whom I highly recommend for anyone who needs help in math.

Although Howard has tutored my brother for several years in the past, I was still initially scared to start a long-term one-on-one tutoring session with anyone. However, when I had my first session with him in the beginning of sophomore year, he was very welcoming and understanding. Howard has aided me through Honors Algebra 2 and Chemistry, and he is currently helping me with SAT preparation, AP Biology, and AP Language and Composition for my upcoming junior year. He’s very organized, invested, and caring; he always tries his best to make tutoring helpful and convenient by offering online tutoring and setting up his own systems. If anything, Howard is more like a very knowledgeable older brother to me rather than just my tutor.

Howard helped me a lot in math and science subjects. I had a lot of trouble understanding the concepts in chemistry, algebra, and trigonometry, which were all classes I needed to pass in order graduate high school and complete my GE. Because I received help from him once a week during my high school years, I was able to pass those classes with grades higher than I expected from myself.

Howard also helped me prepare for the SATs. He dedicated many hours into preparing me for the types of questions/problems I will see in every subject. He gave me flashcards to strengthen my vocabulary, taught techniques on how to manage my test taking time, and quizzed me regularly.

I reached out to Howard when I was a junior in high school because I was struggling and needed extra guidance in Calculus AP. Howard was a great in explaining and helping me better understand whatever I was struggling to work on in class and for homework. He is an excellent tutor such that he has great patience and is able to explain things in different ways to allow me to actually understand concepts rather than merely memorizing steps. I found his tutoring extremely useful and resourceful as he is always willing to take the extra steps to ensure that I was fully understanding all the concepts.

I worked with Mr. Huang throughout my 4 years in high school. He is extremely knowledgeable in math and science and he tutored me from algebra II honors through AP calculus, in AP chemistry and AP biology.

He has many different methods of teaching, so if one way didn’t work out, he could easily switch to another to make sure that I fully understood the material. After teaching me the concepts, he would let me work on problems at my own pace. He wouldn’t intervene unless it was necessary and when he did, he used it as an opportunity to explain the concepts more completely.

He is also quite knowledgeable about both the ACT and SAT, which was useful in helping me decide which test to take. After choosing the ACT, he helped me prepare for it. He taught me all the strategies and tips on how to approach problems in the math and science sections. After taking the ACT the first time, my grammar skills seemed to be lacking so he taught me all the rules in about a month, helping raise my english score to be one of my highest on the test.

Mr. Huang also helped me write my personal statement. He helped me brainstorm, edit, and revise several drafts, providing useful and constructive criticism that helped me clearly express my ideas and develop an essay better than anything I could have written without his help. In all honesty, he was an essential part of me getting into USC. I owe my future to him and feel so fortunate to have been able to work with him.

One of the things I appreciated the most was that he was really easy to connect with on a more personal level, which made my experience with him a lot more enjoyable. He always supported me through all of my successes and challenges in high school which gave me the confidence to do better. He is the complete package and with his comprehensive knowledge, he can help you with anything, math and science, grammar and english, SAT/ACT preparation and writing the best personal statement possible. I would definitely recommend him as a tutor for any subject or college prep areas you need help with.

Mr.Huang never ceases to amaze me. From his thorough explanations of a concept to the patience he has with me, Mr. Huang is truly an amazing tutor. Despite being asked the same repetitive questions, he never loses patience with me and always instills a sense of hope that I can succeed. Whenever it seemed like I would fail Accelerated Math 2, Mr. Huang always came prepared. He always has a plan for me and genuinely believes that I can strive for excellence.

Flash forward, my D became a high B and I earned a 4.00 GPA my sophomore year. To add on, his simple math tactics has also reflected itself in my improving math scores on the SAT.

Currently, he is working on helping me ace the AP Chem exam/class, preparing me to prevail in Accelerated math 3, and is constantly trying to improve my SAT score to strive for a 1600. Thus, I sincerely recommend taking a chance on Howard Huang as you’ll not only see great results but you’ll also do it in a practical way. As the man himself always says, “ I’m training you for the mile by running the marathon”.
